Hi, I’m Thu Do (/too-doe/). I’m a visual development artist based in Detroit, Michigan. My area of interests are illustration, 2D backgrounds, and paintings for animation.

In the past, I freelanced for Vinamilk (a Vietnamese dairy corporation) to work on their packaging. Currently, I’m attending College for Creative Studies majoring in Animation, and minoring in Illustration where I learned the importance of project management and interdisciplinary approaches. Both of which I apply deliberately in my personal work and short films.

Some topics that I persistently explore are themes of childhood and individuality. While in my illustrative work, I gravitate towards warm and whimsical moments. Presently, I am working on my senior thesis, a 30 second film that touches on the feeling of being trapped.

I’m extremely passionate about films, illustrations and anything that involves stories! My friends would described me as being “curious and hardworking.”

If I’m not animating, I’m probably listening to a podcast while doing the dishes, and simultaneously also spending time with my friends.
